Power Care Limited was incorporated in July, 2015 as a subsidiary of Lubeserve Engineering Limited.
Power Care was established as a special purpose vehicle, to play an active part in the Power Sector of Nigerian economy owing to the unbundling of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), which was the only player in the Power Sector in Nigeria, into independent components; GENCOs for generation companies, TCN as the Transmission Company of Nigeria and the DISCOs as the Electricity distribution Companies, which has therefore created a huge opportunity for private sector participation in the Power Sector to boost power supply in the country.
With the government’s plan to increase national power output to 20,000MW by 2020, the entrepreneurial spirit of the founder, Engr. Amechi Franklin Okwose, perceived the power sector as a new frontier for growth opportunities on the medium to long term, thus making Power Care Limited to seek partnership with both indigenous and foreign technical partners to explore these opportunities and also to contribute in her own little way to the development of the power sector of our country.
Our activities in Power Generation is in the Embedded Power and Renewable Energy Solutions to boost Power Generation. In the Transmission section, we are engaged in the Power Grid Infrastructure maintenance to increase the power supply reliability, and Transmission Line expansion program to increase the capacity to transmit Generated Power. At the Distribution level, we participate in the areas of Sub-Station remodeling and repairs, Distribution accessories Sales and Services, and building of completely new Sub-Stations in our effort to support the network sustainability and expand distribution networks. All these we do in partnership with our experienced and tested technical partners.
A very key equipment that cuts across these three segment of the power sector is the Transformer.
Our market survey have revealed that over the years, needlessly huge sums of money have been expended in the repair and replacement of this key component/equipment due to lack of maintenance and more importantly, due to the use of sub-standard Transformer Oil which in very many case, contains a very dangerous chemical, PCB which is carcinogenic in nature, i.e. causes cancer.
Having identified these very high level of low quality and unsafe transformer oil in the Nigerian market, we have gone into partnership (through our parent company - Lubeserve Engineering Ltd.) with an internationally acclaimed manufacturer of one of the highest quality Transformer oil in the world, NYNAS S. A. of Sweden and Multisol Mauritus/Brenntag Chemical Nigeria (appointed distributors of Nynas Transformer Oil in West Africa), to be the Sole marketer of and distributor of Nynas Range of Transformer Oil in Nigeria.
To meet the numerous needs of the supply, maintenance and repair of Transformers by the 3 three tiers of the power sector, we are partnering with a very reputable Transformer manufacturer, Revive Transformers of SA, to be able to make these services available.
In the electrical power accessories, we are partnering with Rockwill Electric with offices in Hong Kong and South Africa in the provision of different ranges of HV & MV Switchgears as well as its range of Renewable energy solutions among others.
